V2 is a major rewrite of SPICE Vision providing many new features. The following is a list of the new features in the Professional edition. Not all of the features are available in the Standard edition. For a comparison between the editions see Editions.

StartPage
The new start page gives you the ability to start a new assessments with one click or to quickly open a recent assessment.

New formatting features
SPICE Vision now uses an XML based text editor that provides for additional formatting like underline, arbitrary text colour and highlighting. Most formatting also carries over to the Word report.

Boilerplate text
You may define boilerplate text that can be quickly included in your notes by typing a key phrase.

Spell checking
The new text editor provides "as you type" spell checking in a number of languages. A context menu provides suggestions for correcting spelling errors.

Consolidated undo and redo
The new text editor used for evidence and notes provides a consolidated undo and redo queue across all windows allowing you to easily undo and redo a series of changes.

Multiple assessment open at the same time
SPICE Vision now supports working on multiple assessments at the same time. Additional assessments will be available in a tabbed Assessment editor.

Support for assessment templates
You may save assessments as templates. Template files provides a quick way to start an assessment with a defined scope, set of notes and input.

XML export of assessment results
Assessment evidence, rating and notes may be exported in XML form. This allows you to store results in a central database.

Configurable Assessment editor
The assessment editor can be configured to support different assessment styles like structured recording of findings or rating of outcomes.

Configurable assessment and process notes
You may now add, remove or rename assessment and process notes. You may also create a template set of notes to be used for any new assessment.

Improved framework viewer
The framework viewer now allows you to look at information in the assessment model related to other processes, attributes or frameworks when the one currently being assessed.


Support for sub-practices and findings
You may now define sub-practices below the practices in the framework. You may also record your evidence as a structured set of findings with a selectable type. These findings ordered below the practices may be aggregated up to the process notes and used in your report.

Mixed model assessments
You can define assessment scopes by mixing processes from different frameworks.

A new scheduling module
A new scheduling module allows you to drag and drop processes to form a schedule. You may handle multiple assessors with private and common sessions. You may also allocate participants to interviews and define meeting rooms. The schedule can be output in MS Excel for review.

Improved chart module
The chart module has been redesign to be more interactive and quickly allow you to switch between different charts, The module also support aggregation of individual process instances in an organizational assessment.

New Excel reports
You may now output summary reports in MS Excel. This provides a good starting point for developing action plans to track work on any issues found in the assessment.

Improved report module
The improved report module provides more detailed control of the content that will be output in an MS Word report. It also provides access to the Xcel reports from the same interface.

Selectable user interface skins
You may now select between several user interface styles like: Aero, Classic, XP or Office 2007 styles.

Improved licensing module
The licensing module allows for simplified activation as part of the registration. You can also move your license to a new computer by deactivating your license on the old computer and reactivating it on the new computer.

More flexible preferences
You have direct access from the main menu and a new toolbar on the Assessment editor for those settings that you would typically need to change during an assessments.

Improved help
The number of topics in the help system has been significantly increased. Help is now also directly accessible from most windows so that you can get context sensitive help.
